Construction

The Chubb 'Everyway' fire hose reel is robustly constructed and is provided with a 4 bolt mounting, which facilitates installation and allows the reel to rotate freely from a fixed position. The frame is manufactured from mild steel, which is chemically treated prior to coating with epoxy powder (red). It boasts a brass waterway and gland, pressed 0.8mm steel side discs of 580 mm diameter, and 3 curved plates to form a hub and give rigidity. A fitted hose guard prevents the hose from jamming or entering the space between the rear disc and wall. The drum takes a maximum of 30 m of 19 mm SABS approved hose.

Operations And Features

The hose can be operated instantaneously by one person simply by turning on the valve and, under pressure, drawing off the hose through the pulley in any direction. Once within range of the fire, the operator is able to control the water stream from the nozzle. For swift operation, refer to directions depicted on the instruction label. After use, we recommend that the reel be checked and sealed by a registered service technician. For sealing purposes, the valve is provided with a hole on the handwheel. When not in use, the valve must remain in the sealed/off position. Handwheels are marked 'OPEN-OOP'. The non-kinkable, SABS approved hose is joint free and terminates in a 19 mm light alloy nozzle, with a twist grip and 5 mm outlet, allowing a jet/spray/off adjustment. a PWD ball-valve nozzle is optional.

Applications

Suitable for Class A fires, e.g. combustible materials such as wood, paper and fabrics. The operator can quickly apply an unlimited water stream directly to the risk. Suitable for both indoor and outdoor use.

Maintenance

To comply with SANS 1475 Part 2 every 12 months, or sooner (depending on local authority regulations).
