The SabreFonic IDS is used for both indoor and outdoor intrusion detection, this will detect vibrations caused by disturbances on a physical barrier. These vibrations will cause the sensor cable to vibrate, in accordance with the magnitude and frequency of the disturbance created upon the physical barrier.
 
This vibration will be converted into electrical signals, which will be analysed by the zone processor.
 
SabreFonic Fibre-Optic Sensor Cable
The perimeter of the secure area is protected using fibre-optic sensor cables, which are highly sensitive to physical disturbances.
 
The SabreFonic sensor cable carries a light signal. Any disturbance of the sensor cable, as caused during an intrusion attempt, will be detected by the zone processor. A dry contact output from the Zone Processor will then signal an alarm state.
