GAYTON MCKENZIE

Gayton assists Chubb South Africa in educating the youth on the less desirable aspects associated with crime.

At the age of 20, Gayton was caught and sentenced to 15 years in prison. Although he didn't know it at the time, it was to be the turning point of his life. After exposing warden corruption using covert cameras that he'd smuggled into prison 7 years into his sentence Gayton received a presidential pardon from Mr Mbeki. Since his release, Gayton has become a celebrity. Still involved in crime, although now in the prevention of it, Gayton assists Chubb South Africa in educating the youth on the less desirable aspects associated with crime.  His anecdotal talks fill the hearts and minds of impressionable youth with fear of engaging in such activities.

UTC EMPLOYEE SCHOLAR PROGRAM

All Chubb employees worldwide can take advantage of UTC’s Employee Scholar Program to further their education. Under the program, UTC pays all tuition, books, and academic fees, and rewards graduating employees with UTC shares or share options. Employees can choose any field of study, not necessarily job-related.

This program, which has been described by independent observers as one of the largest of its kind in the world, was started in 1996. Chairman and CEO of UTC, George David said, "Our goal is to have the best educated workforce on the planet."
