Excessive Response Increase Letter

PRICE INCREASE: EXCESSIVE RESPONSE FEES AS A RESULT OF FALSE ALARM
ACTIVATIONS
Chubb implemented an excessive response levy in an effort to reduce the negative impact that false
alarms have on service levels. This action has allowed Chubb to respond more promptly to clients who
have a valid emergency situation, by minimising responses to false alarms.
The bulk of the false alarm reduction has been a direct result of the following:
– Customers reducing the number of false activations by resolving any technical issues with their
alarm systems
– Customers contacting our monitoring centre when accidentally setting off their alarms to cancel
the response service
– A general increase in the awareness of the causes of false alarms
Please make use of one of the following methods to assist with any false alarm problem you may be
experiencing:
• Contact the service department at your local branch, or alternatively
• Contact the Chubb Customer Service Desk, on 0861 00 22 11 or via e-mail at
chubb.assist@chubb.co.za.
Chubb will implement an increase on the excessive response fees on the 1st of January 2013
